Guild Wars 2 has been a real problem for me since release. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Guild Wars 2 has been a real problem for me since before launch, when it was announced. I loved Guild Wars so much, sunk a lot of time into and, of course, was excited when a fully blown sequel was announced. I had a very simple wishlist for a follow up; prettier graphics but the same game. It was probably too much to ask for though.
Guild Wars 2 is… different. It is Guild Wars in nothing but name. The expansions, or standalone games of the first Guild Wars are long gone – instead we were promised no paid expansions. Yet here we are; a paid expansion that adds, it seems, very little that would convince people disappointed with the base game to jump over. It has not convinced me – and I don’t think much ever will.
